Academic Technology and Media Coordinator

Academic Technology and Media Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for students and associates regarding learning resources, media, and technology on campus. The Academic Technology and Media Coordinator manages all aspects of the Learning Resource Center and provides initial support for computing technology, equipment, and other digital resources used on campus and in the classroom.

Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables

  • Maintain Learning Resource Center hours of operation
  • Manage inventory of Learning Resource Center including purchase of new materials in coordination with Program Directors
  • Maintain software on student facing computers
  • Facilitate tutoring and advising appointments for students with Faculty and Lamplighters
  • Assist students with basic study skills, time management, and other academic skills
  • Attend orientation for new students to introduce the Learning Resource Center
  • Assist locally with launch, training and support for digital learning materials
  • Provide initial technical support to all users of technology on campus and resolve issues as when possible
  • Coordinate with the IT Department at Campus Support Center for resolution on more complex issues
  • Record, track, and effectively communicate all technology related information
  • Attend regularly scheduled calls led by Campus Support Center IT and/or Academic department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, IT or related field (required)
  • Knowledge of library systems and procedures (required)
  • Experience in basic troubleshooting and ability to communicate findings effectively (required)
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and networking concepts (required)
  • Working knowledge of online Learning Management Systems (required); Canvas experience (preferred)

Abilities

  • Ability to occasionally work after-hours or weekends as necessary to perform tasks that may otherwise cause a disruption

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as On Campus or On site; Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
  • No travel required
