Your Role and Responsibilities:
• Conduct First Day Workshops as necessary for new students
• Closely monitor new students for appropriate activity in online and blended courses
• Assist students in developing educational plans and strategies to improve student success
• Monitor individual student progress by utilizing tracking and reporting systems
• Actively prepare for and participate in campus meetings addressing student success
• Provide students with troubleshooting support for Canvas, third-party tools, and/or other academic challenges
• Assist instructors with troubleshooting and training for both Canvas and third-party teaching tools
• Provide training and coaching to instructors to develop efficient and engaging online teaching methods, tools, and strategies
• Assist the Campus Support Center and the Academic Dean with the course review process to evaluate instructor activity and effectiveness
• Collaborate closely with Student Affairs and other departments to identify and recommend appropriate services designed to address student needs
• Compile information on program services, activities, and students. Maintain accurate, organized, completed, and detailed records and develop and maintain reports as required or assigned
• Maintain open communication between Dean, PD’s, and Student Affairs to identify high-risk students
• Continuously monitor academically at-risk students and recorded activities, progress and communications within the student management system
• Maintain an encouraging, supportive, and positive attitude
• Proctor examinations as needed
• Track and document all work and support activities to permit analysis of areas for improvement
• Additional duties as assigned
Your Qualifications:
• Minimum of an associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred, and experience in related field
• Teaching experience and experience with online learning/learning systems required
• Experience working with adult learners, first generation college students, and students from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledgeable in human dynamics: Understanding the needs and challenges of our students.
• Strong organizational skills: Managing various aspects of student affairs.
• Ability to interact effectively: Build relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
• Strong telephone communication skills: Connecting with students and addressing their needs.
