Overview

The Lifecycle Marketing Manager is responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing customer journeys that drive engagement, conversion, and retention across the prospective student lifecycle. This role oversees automated marketing programs, multi-channel nurture strategies, and segmentation to ensure timely, personalized communication at every stage of the funnel. Reporting to the Senior Director, Product & Field Marketing, this position plays a key role in aligning cross-functional marketing, admissions, and student success teams around high-impact strategies that increase inquiries, show rates, and starts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of lifecycle marketing campaigns, including email, SMS, in-app messaging, and push notifications
  • Develop segmentation strategies and automated communication flows for different stages of the student journey (inquiry, application, enrollment, active student, and alumni)
  • Partner with Marketing, Admissions, and Student Services to understand key journey touchpoints, identify gaps, and improve conversion through targeted messaging
  • Collaborate with content, creative, and data teams to ensure messaging is consistent, compelling, and tailored by segment
  • Define, build, and maintain scalable nurture tracks using a marketing automation platform (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, HubSpot)
  • Implement robust A/B testing programs across lifecycle touchpoints to drive continuous improvement and identify optimal message cadence and content
  • Analyze engagement metrics and funnel performance to identify trends, gaps, and optimization opportunities
  • Report on campaign performance against KPIs and recommend enhancements to improve conversion and retention
  • Own audience strategy and support cross-channel marketing campaigns with refined segmentation and targeting
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory communication requirements (e.g., CAN-SPAM, TCPA, FERPA)
  • Stay current on lifecycle marketing trends and technologies and apply best practices to optimize program performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in digital or lifecycle marketing, with a focus on automated campaigns and funnel optimization (required)
  • Experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Pardot, or similar) (required)
  • Background in education, tech, or a service-based industry (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in data-driven decision-making and marketing ROI analysis (required)

Skills: 

  • Expertise in customer journey mapping and full-funnel marketing strategies
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM tools
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with interpreting campaign data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and personalization tools
  • Knowledge of compliance in digital communications (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.)
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven by performance metrics
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS for email formatting

Work Environment: 

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as Hybrid (combination of on campus and remote); Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation. Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
