Overview

The Clinic Coordinator for the Dental Hygiene Clinic is responsible for managing the daily operations of the clinic. This role includes overseeing patient scheduling, assisting students and faculty, maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clinic visitors. The Clinic Coordinator contributes to a well-organized, efficient, and professional clinic environment while facilitating student learning and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinic operations, ensuring a structured and supportive environment for students and faculty
  • Utilize clinic management software (Microsoft Word, Dentrix) for scheduling, documentation, and record-keeping
  • Maintain clinic supplies and equipment, coordinating inventory, ordering, and minor repairs as needed
  • Assist students and faculty during clinic sessions, providing guidance and operational support
  • Manage patient scheduling, phone inquiries, and general patient record maintenance
  • Facilitate compliance with regulatory obligations, including scheduling radiation inspections and maintaining required postings
  • Handle sterilization of student instruments, equipment maintenance, and biological monitoring
  • Care for and store typodonts and manikins used in student training
  • Support advisory committee members, Home Office representatives, and other clinic visitors
  • Assist the Program Director in planning and scheduling Continuing Education Courses

 

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Unencumbered Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) license in the state of FL (required)
  • HS Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clerical support (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of Dentrix Practice Management and Dexus software systems (required)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)

 

  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • Knowledge of dental clinic operations, equipment, and sterilization protocols

 

  • Able and willing to:

    • Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as On Campus or On site; Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
  • Overnight and/or Local travel required (up to 10%)
